Flyers Pull Off Perfect Final Regular Season Game
Although they didn’t come in first in the southern division standings the Milestone U18A Female Flyers finished the regular season in perfect form this past Saturday in Saskatoon.
Playing in perfect form the Flyers managed to win by a 2 - 0 shutout and 0 in penalty minutes against the Saskatoon Comet Predators as they wrapped up the regular season.
The Flyers opened the scoring in the First Period at the 7:52 mark when Allison Duncan scored an unassisted goal.
There was no scoring until late in the Third Period when Nikita Halyk scored unassisted with 42 seconds remaining into an empty Comet Predators net.
The Flyers played the game with a short bench as they were five skaters short.
Camrie Kaufmann recorded the shutout.
Amongst the players missing the game was the Flyers’ McKenna Perras was serving the first of a two game suspension for receiving a two game suspension for a game misconduct penalty she drew on February 13th at home against the Saskatoon Comet Destroyers.
The Flyers end the regular season with a 12 - 5 -3 record.
The Flyers play game one of a best of three series versus the Wood River SWT Ice Cats. The two teams met twice during the regular season with the Flyers winning both games.
The first game of the playoffs in Milestone is on Sunday February 27th at 4 pm.
