Drug Dealer Released To Home In Brownlee On $7,500 Bail
A now newly convicted drug dealer will be spending the next few weeks confined to the interior of home in the hamlet of Brownlee until final sentencing and disposition of his case in North Battleford.
Appearing through a video link from the Regina Correctional Centre Kurt Miller plead guilty to possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon (a saw off shotgun) and conspiracy to traffic narcotics.
The guilty pleas were related to a May 14, 2020 incident when Miller was caught with large enough quantities of fentanyl and Crystal Methamphetamine to be charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking as well as the sawed off shotgun. The offence occurred in the RM of Glenside near North Battleford.
The conspiracy to traffic occurred on March 18, 2021 near Saskatoon when Miller conspired with others to traffic in fentanyl.
Miller has been released on strict conditions until his next scheduled court appearance January 25th.
The strict conditions include he must remain inside a residence for 24 hours a day unless authorized (he is allowed to go outside December 25th), not change his residence, no alcohol, cannabis or other drugs unless prescribed by a physician, no contact with his fellow accused, no firearms, no ammunition and no knives unless they are for eating and no cellphones or other devices other than one cellphone.
Miller must also attend court when directed. His next court date is January 25th in North Battleford. Sentencing is expected at this time.
