Visitors To Most Health Care Facilities Now Require Vaccination Proof Or Negative Test

If you are not a resident of a long term care home or a patient at an acute care facility you are now required to provide your proof of vaccination (commonly referred to as a vaccination passport) or a recent negative COVID - 19 test.

Effective yesterday, November 8th, the Province has made it mandatory for non-residents and non-patients to provide proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID - 19 test to enter the large majority of health care facilities province-wide.

This is in addition to such other mandated measures as the wearing of non-medical masks at all times when in the affected facilities.

The mandate does not apply to facilities such as doctor and dental offices.

“The SHA is committed to patient and family centred care, including safe family presence. Many safety enhancements have been put in place during the pandemic to promote and sustain safe family presence including masking, screening and point of care testing. All essential family/supports and visitors are to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test. Without a proof of vaccination, essential family/supports and visitors to long term care homes (including Affiliates) and personal care homes may provide a negative PCR or a rapid antigen test, provided the test is performed in the last 72 hours by an approved third party provider. Additionally the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) has since October 1st enacted a phased in approach that all SHA employees be fully vaccinated against COVID - 19.
