Work Continues In the Residential Areas Of Project

It was another week of progess as Phase Five of the Cast Iron Water Main Replacement Program continues to make progress in residential areas.

Stadacona Street East - 6th Avenue NE to 9th Avenue NE

Progress continued as the 600 block section is now completed with the intersection of Stadacona St E and 7th Avenue NE now open to traffic.

The 700 block is right now being packed as the underground work is completed.

Effective Monday the intersection of Stadacona St E and 9th Avenue NE will be closed to traffic to allow for the work to be completed.

Third Avenue NW - Hall Street West to MacDonald Street West

This section of Phase Five saw a lot of work over the last week with the intersection of 2nd Avenue NW and Oxford Street West open for traffic.

Work continues on the 1000 block of 3rd Avenue NW but the area’s excavation is completed with the tranch area being refilled and packing underway to allow for paving.

The intersection of 3rd Avenue NW and Hall Street West is still closed to traffic.

Additionally the intersection of 3rd Avenue NW and Saskatchewan Street West is closed to traffic.

Although they generally do not work on the weekend crews were on-site and actively excavating on the Hall Street W to Saskatchewan Street W section on Saturday afternoon.
