CN Crossing On Main Street Re-Opening Tomorrow
It has been a scene of motorist angst for years.
Most recently having the inner southbound lane closed since early February, but at 7 am on Tuesday the rejuvenated CN rail crossing on Main Street North will re-open to the public.
Closed since July 4th the crossing as well as the surrounding area has been upgraded to not only smooth out the crossing but also ensure proper drainage.
By ensuring proper drainage the problem plauged roadway is suppose to not need further repairs within a short timeframe.
The crossing and surrounding area had been repaired in the past in a way Mayor Fraser Tolmie described at a recent Council meeting as a bandaid solution requiring continual repair.
Tonight the City crew will be out painting lines on the roadway after which the road will be re-opened to traffic.
