City Staff Give To The Food Bank
Two initiatives by City staff has paid off for the Moose Jaw and District Food Bank.
The first initiative was operated by the City’s Recruitment, Retention and Recognition Committee (RRRC) with City Hall staff being allowed to dress down to casual wear and then making a donation for the privilege to do so.
For the past year staff at City Hall have been allowed to wear more casual clothing on Fridays by making a donation which in turn goes to charity. This years charity selected was the Moose Jaw and District Food Bank.
City Hall staff managed to raise $1315.
The second initiative saw the City’s Finance/Treasury dept. initiated a food drive and challenged all City Hall employees to contribute. The result was 637 pounds of non-perishable food items, which were delivered to the Food Bank, along with the RRRC donation, on November 4.
