Fair Takes First Rain Day in 29 Years
For the first time in 29 years the Moose Jaw Hometown Fair lost a day due to rain but the Moose Jaw Exhibition Company manager George Fowler said given the drought conditions it is something they can live with.
Despite the loss of Friday the Moose Jaw Hometown Fair opened with what many are calling one of the best parades in many years this past Thursday evening as the rains stopped and the sunny skies but cooler conditions made the event more comfortable.
The rains on Friday proved to cause the fair to lose its first say in 29 years.
On Saturday with intermitent showers the die hard fair goers were out and about and enjoyoing the fair with the midway open from Noon until Midnight.
The clear skies on Sunday had fairgoers out and partaking in the rides and the free entertainment.
As of late Sunday night final attendance numbers were unknown but Fowler said he expected them to be down from average due to the wet weather.
