Hometown Fair Has Lots Of Free Entertainment
Although many people go to the Moose Jaw Hometown Fair to partake in the Midway and its rides there is a lot more to the Fair and the great thing it is all free with your gate admission of $12.
The Hometown Fair takes place at the Moose Jaw Exhibition Grounds located at 250 Thatcher Drive East - just east of Superstore - has a great assortment of entertainment which is family oriented.
From dogs performing stunts sure to delight and motorcycle stunt riding plus performance artists and even a bunch of lizards.
The ever popular K9 Stars Dog Show is making its return to the fair with a new attraction Ride The Vibe - Motorcycle Stunt Show. You can read more about them here.
For others the Fair would not be complete without the wandering entertainers and this year the Hometown Fair has managed to book some top quality performance artists - Animal Cracker Conspiracy plus Mango and Dango - on their way to the Calgary Stampede. You can read more about them here.
And finally the free entertainment your gate admission gives you access to is the return of Safari Jeff and his reptile show as well as for those of you wanting to try something new there is paint ball except it uses chalk. During the Hometown Fair the Burrowing Owl Centre is CLOSED to the public.
There are three gates to the Moose Jaw Hometown Fair. You can enter through the Superstore parking lot - a very popular option - or out front off of Thatcher Drive East or enter through the north gate.
Parking on pavement at the Superstore lot is not free and you can be ticketed and towed if you are going to the fair. A local baseball team has a deal to rent parking spaces on the Superstore lot and it is their major fundraiser.
There is a Moose Jaw Transit or City bus which stops at its regular stop in the Superstore parking lot but you need to be reminded it does NOT run extended hours during the Fair. Please ensure you check the schedule if you are using the public transit option and additionally there is no Sunday service.

Hours for the Hometown Fair - for the Midway - are Friday 3 pm to Midnight; Saturday Noon to Midnight and Sunday Noon until 10 PM.
