In 2018 Moose Jaw was the site of the Saskatchewan Senior Fitness Association (SSFA) 55+ Provincial Summer Games.

On Thursday (June 20), the Games host committee made a donation to the City of Moose Jaw Parks and Recreation Department.

Organizers presented the City with a cheque for $8819.00 to put towards fitness equipment for seniors in Moose Jaw’s Crescent Park.

“The Games were very successful thanks to the strong support of our community,” said Games Chairperson Crystal Froese. “We want part of our legacy to include expanded outdoor physical activity opportunities for seniors in Moose Jaw.”

“We are proud to have worked with the Games Committee and appreciate their generous donation,” said Scott Osmachenko, Recreation Services Manager for the City of Moose Jaw. “It’s our goal to have this new outdoor fitness equipment installed in Crescent Park in 2020.”

The equipment will be installed on the west side of the Crescent Park playground, allowing users who bring young family members to the playground to watch them play while exercising.
