World Men’s Curling Heating Up Naming Rights Search
The World Men’s Curling Championship is already starting to have a positive affect on the financial fortunes of the Moose Jaw Events Centre.
The championship, scheduled for March 29 - April 6, 2025, has helped raise corporate attention when it comes to naming rights at the facility.

“We’ve had a number of leads over the last few months. I’m really hoping now with the announcement from the announcement of last Friday with world curling it will motivate some corporation or entities to come and have your name on this building and get international attention,” Maryse Carmichael told MJ Independent at the post Council news conference.

“We are still actively pursuing still with the contractor, that was in place before I arrived at the City, they are actively discussing with corporations,” Carmichael said.
Asked again by MJ Independent to clarify if the 2025 World Men’s Curling Championships the facility is set to host helps in the allusive search for a naming rights sponsor she said it did.
“I think it would (benefit) if I was an international corporation and all of a sudden (you get all this attention). You saw it this week at the Brier and the importance of the on-going sponsorships. I think it will be the same thing for the 2025 World Men’s Curling.”
“So in future we could hear CAE Stadium?” Jason G Antonio from the Moose Jaw Express asked making reference to Carmichael’s employer just prior to joining the City of Moose Jaw.
“It could be the CAE Arena. It could be a number of them absolutely,” she replied. “It’s open. If anyone is interested come and see me. Absolutely we are looking for that.”
The naming rights for what was once called the Multiplex were held by Mosaic Company and the rink was called Mosaic Place.
The initial naming rights contract ended on August 31, 2021 but the Mosaic Company agreed to extend it for year to allow the City an opportunity to find another sponsor.
Under the naming rights agreement Mosaic paid $150,000 annually.
With Mosaic decline to renew or further extend the naming rights contract Mosaic Place was named the Moose Jaw Events Centre in September 2022.
It was a move seen as temporary at the time.
