Meet Your Candidates - Zac Monchamp
My name is Zac Monchamp, it's very French Canadian.
I moved to Moose Jaw in the Ninties, I got married, started a family and graduated from the University of Regina in the years since. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Political Science with an International Focus.
I've been interested and involved in politics for quite some time, and I have debated running for council before.
This time I have someone who's going to grow up and have to decide where they want to live, work and possibly have their own families.
I thought to myself I keep hoping for change then the last election I saw a step back and then I saw little change and a lot of inaction.
Zac Monchamp
I decided that if I want to see the changes that I want to see, I have to step up and be those changes.
I want a Moose Jaw that isn't infamous for winning the top ten worst roads in Saskatchewan, a Moose Jaw that has opportunities for all residents, and for it to be a vibrant city all residents can be proud of.
On my city profile, I mentioned I'm disabled, I have been diagnosed with autism and I have some nervous system issues that affect my mobility.
I have had to face a lot of uphill battles because of it, but I hate being defined by it.
My parents weren't the most well off, and so I had to learn the value of a dollar and what to prioritize. I believe that I will bring a needed change of view, knowledge and opinion to the city council.
So hopefully I have earned your vote to have a chance to work with council for you, to make Moose Jaw better for you.
