Questions Asked About City’s App Being A Little Too Eager To Please
By Robert Thomas
If you’ve had problems with the City of Moose Jaw App where requests for service were marked as RESOLVED don’t worry you aren’t the only one.
At Monday afternoon’s regular meeting of Council a question was asked by Councillor Dawn Luhning about how residents have requested service only to have nothing done and the request to be marked as Resolved.
“I’ve had a number of citizens ask me about issues they submitted through the App. And I am one of those people who has as well submitted an issue through the App, which we were told to do, and then they get a response back that it is resolved. And nothing has been done,” Councillor Luhning said.
“Have you any conversation about that?” she asked.

“This is something I’ve flagged since I arrived,” city manager Maryse Carmichael said, adding “we’ve had discussions with the leadership team in the last two weeks and we have put in a change (going forward).”
“We will see a change to the App,” she said.
Mayor. Clive Tolley asked if people had submitted something before on the App should if the issue was flagged as Resolved should resubmit their requests.
Carmichael responded that residents should look at the list of the issues submitted and if the issue was important it should be resubmitted.
“If it’s something important, yes (resubmit it) but I ask you not to submit all of them because Public Works would be (swamped) with hundreds of them,” she said.
