Intersection's Safety Questioned
There is no doubt the intersection of 4th Avenue NW and MacDonald Street West can be a busy one. The question is does the intersection have enough accidents to warrant the installation of a four way stop.
It is something Administration will be reporting back on after an enquiry was asked about the intersection’s safety by Councillor Doug Blanc.
“I am being told there are a lot of accidents there over the year because people are coming over that hill and can’t see. I was just looking to see if there was any possibility at looking at that to see how many accidents occur and the feasibility to putting up a four way stop to eliminate some of that,” Councillor Blanc asked.
City engineer Bevan Harlton said he could look into the situation.
“I can have a look at that intersection and find some information about traffic accidents (there),” Harlton responded.
The answer to the enquiry will come back to Council in a future meeting.
