Police Salaries Released As Part Of 2020 Public Accounts

On Monday evening Council officially accepted the 2020 Public Accounts.

As part of Provincial legislation the City of Moose Jaw is required to publish the remuneration of all employees earning over $50,000 annually.

During the discussion about the City’s public account Mayor Fraser Tolmie said as the chair of the Moose Jaw Board of Police Commissioners that a motion had been passed to have police salaries reported by that board and not part of the City’s accounts.

The Mayor said the reasoning was based upon members of the Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) being legally separate from the City and therefore the Board of Police Commissioners should be issuing the salaries paid to MJPS members.

Below is the remuneration for the 18 highest paid employees of the Moose Jaw Police Service:
