The Library is Going to be a Little Cooler

Robert Thomas

Browsing the internet, perusing through books or taking a look at art at the Moose Jaw Public Library will be a lot cooler and a lot less humid once a condenser unit in the heating and cooling system is repaired.

Executive Committee gave approval to spend $18,000 to install a retrofit kit and replace the Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Condenser Unit for both facilities. The unit is part of the heating and ventilation system and controls fan speeds.

According to the report to Executive Committee on June 29th problems were noticed with the unit. And the building was noticeably warmer when temperatures reached above 30C. A retrofit would make it more comfortable and have energy savings, the report stated.

Executive Committee approved the purchase.
